Mill Metallurgist

• The Mine is located in south central Ireland and is approximately 30 km from a major city in the region
• The workings of the underground mine are accessed through a decline from surface
• Mine production is primarily carried out by room-and-pillar and by bench-and-fill methods
• The mine flowsheet employs a conventional SAG-ball mill grinding circuit with differential flotation for the production of lead and zinc concentrates.
• The primary metal produced is zinc, with lead and silver obtained as by-products.

• This position reports to the Mill Manager.
• The Mill Metallurgist will ensure the mills metallurgical targets are met by providing day to day technical support to operations and by undertaking improvement projects.
• The Mill Metallurgist is required to work closely with the operations team, maintenance and mine departments to achieve these targets.

• Setting, maintaining and updating operating strategies;
• Process monitoring and data analysis for troubleshooting;
• Metallurgical accounting and reporting;
• Identify and implement process improvements;
• Lead by example in all safety and environmental matters.

• Degree qualification in Metallurgy (or similar discipline e.g. Chemical Engineering)
• 2-3 years of experience in base metal flotation
• Enthusiasm
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in the use of office software
• Written/spoken English

• The role is based in Ireland and in terms of language, English is the most important language.
• Ideally the company would prefer to hire someone who is already in Europe
• Ideally they should know and like Ireland, so would be aware of climatic and cultural conditions and enjoy their time in the country.
• The mine is preparing for closure in 3 years which is why the company is offering a one-year term
