Minerals Planner

The role will involve work on the full range of mineral planning services provided by the Office, with particular reference to co-ordinating environmental impact assessments associated with mineral projects.
The successful applicant will be expected to handle a portfolio of projects, under the guidance of the project Director, but to be responsible for the day to day management of those projects, including client liaison, and negotiations with regulatory bodies as appropriate.
The successful applicant will need to be able to handle the pressures of a heavy workload and time pressures associated with the delivery of projects on time and in accordance with high standards expected by our clients.
Key skills will include the need for effective communication, both oral and written, an ability to manage projects, and a thorough understanding of minerals planning legislation and associated regulations and government advice.
Education:
· A degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning,
· A related discipline which would be compatible with the key elements of the role.
· This might include qualifications in geology, minerals surveying, or environmental science, which can then be applied to the required minerals planning role.
The successful applicant will need to exhibit enthusiasm and commitment, with an outgoing personality, an ability to build good relationships with clients and project teams.
